ah..another roro jonggrang. forgive me, i just love her too much that i can't fight an urge to draw her... well, i realized the pose is a bit weird, but yeah...can't help it.
i got confused at the beginning what to put in the background...at first i want a traitional javanese chair made from jati wood, but i failed got the pic. then cause i am too lazy to draw it myself, i though..hell yeah...why not put some batik motif here? then i put it. the letter R i put in the end to make some composition..must be R and J, but i forot the J.
since javanese's standard for beauty is yellowish egg skin and black shinning long hair...so there she is. oh, anyway, her outfit isn't the traditional javanese one, i mix it with some modern touch... the thing beside her is a bokor, a traditional incense of javanese.. to burn dried leaves and flowers to create some aroma.
humm...what do you think? ak..i've edited it ^^

woish i love the rich culture packed into it hunny!! you're knowledge of javanese and how much importance you put into it is wow. *smile* I very much admire it. you definitely have a cultural identity.
I hope your classes on anatomy are going well... ah, i can't wait for the results!
I love the batik motif btw, and the colors are very wood-sy like how i would imagine old folktales to be. Master!!

You shouldn't apologize for drawing Roro Jonggrang pictures, 'cause I really like them! X3 I absolutely love seeing things like folktales from different cultures! And your style for these are beautiful~ >3<
very pretty.
i love the color scheme, the background and textures, well done. her clothes and jewlery, nice as well, good job with the angle on her face and whatnot, the only thing i think that kinda bugs me is her foot.
but overall, very pretty.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
